Newsletter

Family Involvement

For my second year placement I was challenged to come up with a project that promotes family involvement. I decided to create a newsletter that gives the parents insight to what activities I had been doing with the children.

I printed out copies of the newsletter and taped one to each of the children's cubbies.

The centre I was placed at was in a low-income area with a majority of young  mothers and therefore the newsletter was effective because it provided the parents and caregivers with information, without asking them for anything in return.

Front page:

  • A little bit about me

  • What I have been doing in the classroom

  • What the newsletter is about

  • A simple thank you to the parents and caregiver for allowing me to participate in the classroom and interact with their children
