Learning Beliefs

1. Sociology of Education Critical Response

This critical response examines the importance of unlearning and relearning to debunk bias in order to liberate students from barriers that deprive them the opportunity to succeed.

"The new perspective I gained through unlearning and relearning to see what is hidden has helped me strive to be an educator that liberates all students from the barriers that are depriving them of opportunities to succeed"

Professional Growth Target
Look for what is invisible to the eye when it comes to getting to know my students. To look deeper inside the funds of knowledge they bring into the classroom through conversation with them.

2. United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)

The UNCRC speaks to our ethical responsibility as educators to ensure children's rights are being respected and advocated for.
